Dark spots
Fading dark marks and uneven tone without irritation.
Hyperpigmentation covers dark marks left after a breakout, sun spots, and patchy uneven tone. It forms when skin produces extra melanin, and it fades slowly: think months, not days.
The single most important step is daily sunscreen, because UV exposure darkens existing marks and creates new ones. Beyond that, ingredients such as niacinamide and vitamin C are popular in Korean and Japanese formulas aimed at brighter, more even-looking skin.
Our dark-spot guides cover what to realistically expect, how to avoid irritation (which can itself leave marks, especially on deeper skin tones), and what these products cost in Canada. Melasma and sudden new spots are worth showing a dermatologist.
